The Warrior Chimaji Appa , Younger brother of Bajirao Peshva. He won the battle of Vasai against Portugese which was from 1736 - 1739 , a three years of successful battle won by Maratha Empire. Three years because it was difficult to take Vasai fort in one time so they first won the other forts from Salsette island also from British Empire and then Maratha Empire won the battle of Vasai in 1739 which ended with a treaty between Maratha and Portuguese.

He was an able military commander who liberated the western coast of India from Portuguese rule. The high watermark of his career was the capture of Vasai fort from the Portuguese in a hard fought battle.
