FRAUD ALERT – PETROL PUMP CHEATING AT MANICKPUR, VASAI People are already stressed about fuel issues, but what happened to me at a petrol pump in Vasai is beyond unacceptable — it’s outright cheating. On 28 March at around 11:03 PM, we were returning home from the doctor, and I was not keeping well. On the way, my husband’s bike ran out of petrol, and we still had around 6 km to go. With no option left, we stood in a long queue at a petrol pump in Manickpur. After a long wait, when our turn finally came, we decided to fill the tank full using auto-cut — just to avoid going through this hassle again, especially since I wasn’t well. The auto-cut stopped at around ₹700 (~7 litres). Then the attendant casually asked, “Upar tak bhar doon?” We said bhar do. And that’s where the scam begins. Without any clarity or reset, the meter was pushed straight to ₹1400. There was a huge rush, I wasn’t well, our child was home alone, and we were already getting late — so we paid and left. But later, when we actually thought about it, the numbers didn’t make sense: ₹1400 petrol ≈ 13.5 litres Bike: 135cc Pulsar → Tank capacity ≈ 8 litres So the question is simple: How does 13+ litres fit into an 8-litre tank? This is not a mistake. This is not confusion. This is fraud. At a time when common people are already dealing with rising fuel costs and anxiety, such petrol pumps are openly looting customers under pressure situations. This is a direct complaint against the Bharat Petroleum petrol pump at Manickpur, Vasai. I have full transaction proof (dated 28 March, 11:03 PM) and am ready to escalate this to higher authorities, consumer forums, and oil company officials. I demand: Immediate inspection of the pump and meter calibration CCTV verification of the incident Strict action against the staff involved People need to stay alert. Very disappointing and suspicious experience at this petrol pump. The staff appear to be using short fueling techniques, which means customers may not actually receive the full amount of petrol they pay for. The staff tried to scam me by claiming they had already filled ₹100 worth of petrol before I even noticed, and then attempted to charge me significantly more than what was actually dispensed. Fortunately, I was paying attention and caught the discrepancy immediately. When I confronted them about the incorrect amount, they had no choice but to return the extra money they had tried to overcharge. It's clear this was an intentional attempt to cheat customers, not an honest mistake. I wonder how many other unsuspecting customers have been scammed this way without realizing it.
