Just visited Mejwani Maharashtrichi in Powai, Mumbai for lunch and it turned out to be a proper Maharashtrian feast! If you love authentic regional food, this place is definitely worth trying. Started the meal with Kothimbir Vadi – perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, packed with coriander flavor. A classic Maharashtrian snack done right. Next came the Chicken Pahadi and Kabab. The Chicken Pahadi had a nice smoky flavor with mild spices, while the Kabab was juicy, tender, and grilled beautifully. Great starters to kick off the meal. For the main course, I tried Valacha Birda and Maswadi. Valacha Birda, a traditional Maharashtrian curry made with field beans, had a rich, earthy taste. Maswadi was unique and flavorful, with its spiced gram flour dumplings soaking up the curry perfectly. Paired everything with Jawari Bhakri, which tasted fresh and authentic – a perfect match for the curries. Also had Green Salad and Steam Rice on the side to balance the meal. Ended the lunch on a sweet note with Kharvas, a traditional Maharashtrian dessert made from colostrum milk. It was soft, mildly sweet, and flavored with cardamom – the perfect way to finish the meal. Overall, a satisfying experience with authentic flavors that truly represent Maharashtrian cuisine. If you’re in Mumbai and want to try traditional dishes beyond the usual restaurant menus, this place is definitely worth visiting.

We tried authentic maharastraian veg food. Overall Wonderful taste. Initially was little hesitant as most of the reviews had recommended for non veg dishes. Restaurant also promotes and overall display is for non veg food only. But surprisingly the veg maharastrian dishes were really great in taste. Also sol kadhi was good. We took our north indian guest to the restaurant who also appreciated the taste.The ambience interior is really unique shohld be maintained well. Although the washroom area is just like any road side dhaba, but the Restaurant is good and has good looks. Don't expect u can view powai lake while having ur food its not possible as the Restaurant is completely on opposite side of the road. Wonderful ambience although the seating sofas are little uncomfortable due to over used. We tried Modak as sweet dish which was ok ok. Overall service is good.

Really loved this place. Food, service, ambience everything was very good. Authentic tasty non veg. Also the background marathi/koli songs matches the vibe of this place. Different type of seatings capture your attention. Will love to visit again.
