Kapil Sharma, born 2 April 1981 in Amritsar, rose to national fame after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2007, going on to become India's most recognised comedian and television host.
Kapil moved to Mumbai to build his television career, where he is based today, running his production house K9 Films from the city.
His shows Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show, and now The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix have made him a household name, and he has also acted in films like Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.
