Well maintained and peaceful ambience. To reach this temple you have to enter through the Main gate of the NCH colony. At the foothills parking facility is available after which you climb some 100 steps to reach the temple. That itself gives us a feel of the Sabarimala. Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa. 🙏

Beautiful Temple in a Beautiful Place. Only if they allowed to click pictures inside, I would have shown how beautiful is the main diety here. Anyways the path is also nice, you need to keep looking for turn from where the stairs start. We missed it at first and then had to come back. Also there are specific timings, so be cautious about that. The Panditji here tells you to take parshad, which is nice.

This Holy Abode of Lord Ayyappa is one of the oldest outside Kerala, it is located on hill hock situated inside Naval Civilian Housing Colony. Entry is restricted and is bound by NCHS rules. Temple timings are in general similar to ones in Kerala, morning 04.30 am to 10.00 am evening 04.30 am to 8.00 pm (timings to checked as it might changes, on special occasions this might change). The locations is by far the best one can find around any temple in Mumbai, area is covered with thick vegetation, vehicle can reach up to foot hill, a small trek of 100-150 steps would be required to reach the temple. It has sanctums of God Shiva, Rama, Hanuman, Ganapati & Devi. Main deity is God Ayyappa.- Temples host various cultural events, bhajan, poojas, recitals, congregation saptahams & Annual temple festive. Varied Poojas for individuals and families cane be performed here. The ambience is very appealing, even though situated inside the city it provides a escape from city hustle, silence and environment is ideal for calmly the sensory, can indulge in bhakti & deep mediation without any hinderance. Can be reached via train (Railway Station Kanjurmarg with in 1 km), BUSES, Auto, Private vehicles.
