The food we tried was exceptionally yummy 🤤, so it’s an easy 5 stars on that front! Unfortunately, the seating experience wasn’t as pleasant. We were given a very cramped and uncomfortable table for two, which made the meal less enjoyable. While it was a weekend afternoon and the restaurant was understandably busy, being charged a default 10% service fee on top of that felt unfair. In my opinion, tips or service charges should remain optional rather than being automatically added to the bill. Taking both the excellent food and the disappointing seating/service experience into account, I’d rate the overall experience 3/5.

I recently visited Subko Coffee Roasters in Bandra and had an amazing experience. The café has a great vibe and a very beautiful atmosphere. I also noticed many foreign visitors there, which shows how popular the place is. I tried the Americano and it was one of the best coffees I’ve had. The flavor was very smooth and rich. I loved it so much that I even bought coffee beans to take home. For dessert, I tried the espresso cream croissant and it was absolutely delicious. It had a rich coffee cream filling inside and tasted amazing with the coffee. Overall, it’s a perfect place for coffee lovers. Every time I visit Mumbai, I will definitely come back to this café again.

Subko is our almost-everyday breakfast stop. Great food, lovely vibe, beautiful interiors, and warm service — no complaints there. It’s become quite the unofficial office space too! Just one food for thought: you order at the counter and it’s brought to you, yet a service charge is added. They’re happy to remove it, but it does feel odd. If it’s part self-service, maybe it should be fully self-service without the charge — otherwise let tipping be optional, like in a regular restaurant. Prices do feel a bit London-ish. But perhaps if someone camps for six hours and spends ₹350, it’s still cheaper than renting office space!
